We are looking for 1 or 2 more skilled maintenance / construction people to add to our growing crew.
If you have construction and Maintenance skills - and are realistic
about what people are paid, please read this posting.
If you are interested in a long term situation, this can be - if you have good skills and
a solid work ethic.
Year round our crew has full time work - never a layoff; not even in the winter.
We have several projects in the works and would like to find One or two people that are willing to work
hard for a solid future. This will involve rehabbing houses and apartments in and around the
Winston area as well as ongoing maintenance of our properties.
We are looking for hardworking, hands on people that have their own tools and property maintenance
experience as well as experience in most aspects of renovating houses and construction.
You must be able to lift heavy materials such as doors and roofing, Not constantly, but able to carry an 80 pound
door, or bag of concrete mix.
Ideally we would like to find someone with good electric skills, in a perfect world a journeyman level or higher electrician would be awesome, and / or someone that is HVAC certified.
We are a small organization - which buys, renovates, rents and maintains apartments and houses for low income
people who don't receive subsidies - with a focus on Veterans and homeless. We currently have several projects underway and need to hire one or two more good productive workers that are focused and dedicated.
Most of our projects are in the city of Winston Salem, occasionally we do a project in an adjacent
county or area.
The perfect candidate will be able to work with all aspects of construction including and not limited to:
electric experience - from replacing switches + light fixtures to upgrading circuit breaker panels and
complete house rewire, drywall and plaster repair, as well as new dry wall and taping experience - able
to do a whole house including ceilings, installing doors and windows, paint, roofing, flooring, etc.
Ideally they will also have extensive plumbing experience; and/ or HVAC experience.
We realize that nothing, and no one, are perfect - and will help train you in areas where you lack experience.
Pay will be based on performance, so as long as you do good work, you will be rewarded for being fast and focused.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not at all necessary.
Must be able to get along with, and respect people of all races, religions, etc.
