Carpenter Job Duties
· Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic, or other materials
· Layout, cut and assemble a variety of wood components
· Operate a variety of wood working machines, as well as hand and power tools
· Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units, using dowels, nails, screws and/or clamps
· Bonds, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.
· Build, repair, install items, such as cabinet, counter tops, shelving, moldings, and partition walls
· Sets up and operates machines such as table saws, chop saws, drill presses, punches, and routers to cut and manipulate materials for carpentry.
· Install hardware such as hinges, handles, catches, drawers, pulls and slides
· Responsible for general shop upkeep, safety and productivity
Job Requirements
· Minimum of 2 years woodworking/carpentry experience
· Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to read measurements and blueprints for the construction of wood structures
· Ability to set up and operate machines such as table saws, chop saws, drill presses, punches, and routers to cut and manipulate materials
· Able to bolt, rivet, screw, clip, caulk, or bond component parts to assemble products
· Attention to detail is a must- “measure twice- cut once” mentality
· Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Must be flexible with the ability to shift gears as priorities change
· Must be willing to work OT as needed
