Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Morrison-Maierle has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer.

Morrison-Maierle has offered a broad range of engineering, surveying, and scientific services for over 70 years throughout the Western United States from offices in Casper, Cody, Gillette, and Sheridan, Wyoming; Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell, and Missoula Montana; Spokane, Washington; and Phoenix, Arizona. Opportunity

This individual will join a strong, diverse team delivering projects to Municipal and Industrial clients, among others. As part of the team, the successful candidate will be asked to interface with clients, consultants, design staff and other design team professionals to understand their process, instrumentation and controls requirements to produce deliverables associated with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and other systems.

In addition to participation in project delivery teams, the successful candidate will be expected to independently, and as a team member, pursue new work opportunities with existing and new clients. As Morrison-Maierle anticipates significant growth in the I&C, SCADA and low-voltage engineering discipline, the successful candidate will be involved in influencing strategy related to service offerings.

Over time, specific responsibilities will include:

Technical/Project

Provides technical, programming and design/construction services in support of I&C / SCADA design and implementation projects as a part of a project team.

Conducts preliminary process evaluations, SCADA architecture concepts, prepares specifications, reports, controls programming and I&C designs for municipal water and wastewater systems, and Industrial process and treatment systems.

Understand and implement communications systems such as Ethernet based local area networks and wireless radio systems.

Interfaces with process, civil, mechanical and electrical design engineers.

Communicates directly with client project personnel.

Performs PLC programming and/or HMI programming.

Management/Quality

Managing projects including schedule, scope, technical, quality and financial success.

Providing general supervision of technical staff, ensuring projects are completed in accordance with client requirements and company policies and standards. Professional and career development of staff.

Performing as Client Service Manager and Project Manager, as necessary.

Monitoring quality assurance and risk management procedures. Create and modernize quality assurance procedures, when necessary.

Perform Quality Control functions, when necessary.

Business Development

Initiating, managing and assisting in building client relationships, including maintaining, expanding and enhancing existing client relationships, forging new relationships with prospective clients and securing profitable new work.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (related field). P.E. preferred, but not required.

Minimum of 10 years professional experience in delivering consulting and related services to the municipal and industrial markets. Familiarity with processes, programs and equipment common in the municipal and industrial markets a must. Familiarity with low voltage-related design services in related markets in which Morrison-Maierle competes desirable.

Client relationship building skills, and the ability to pursue and capture projects. Must be service oriented and be excited to work in a team environment. Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with employees and managers. Positive attitude and professional bearing. Strong organizational skills and aptitude for detail.

This position requires regular travel to Morrison-Maierle offices and to select conferences/business development venues. Must have a valid drivers license and insurable driving record.

Salary $80,000 - $110,000 with competitive bonus compensation program

Location Any Morrison-Maierle office location will be considered.
