TRT Logistics Inc. is looking for quality mechanics to join our growing material hauling team. TRT is based in Wahpeton ND. This position is for a mechanic to be based out of our shop in Wahpeton, ND. Applicant will be required to travel out of town when needed when we are working on large projects out of town. When working out of town working, we try to have a 2-week rotation, unless the employee wants to work in the field longer. Hourly pay is increased when out of town, plus per diem is added.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel trucks and trailers in the gravel hauling industry. Knowledge of ISX, CAT, T 800’s, along with side, and belly dump trailers is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic test.
Safely repair vehicles by performing the following:
Routinely perform preventive maintenance to include, but not limited to, installing component and part upgrades.
Accurately maintain vehicle records to include services and repairs, inspections records, etc.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
HS Diploma/GED or at least 5 years specific work experience.
Must have tools.
Carry a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles and equipment.
Able to maneuver under truck or trailer.
Experience repairing and working around trucks and trailers.
Have knowledge of hand tools, diagnostic equipment and large and small mechanical components.
Ability to properly diagnose “red tag” issues.
Good verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and vendors.
Detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
Must possess sound reasoning skills and be able to multi-task and maintain focus.
PAY AND BENEFITS
Competitive pay (DOE), along with per diem of $55.00/day for work performed on jobs over 50 miles of Wahpeton ND. Health insurance - Blue Cross Blue Shield, company match simple IRA, along with vacation and holiday pay.
