The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the senior desk clerk in providing clerical and administrative support to the Child Development Center Programs. Daily, counts change funds, completes AFF 1876, Consolidated Cost Center Report, to accurately report income in appropriate cost centersProvides administrative support to Child Development Center Director and performs other duties as assignedRequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsIn order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes software processing procedures; producing documents such as graphics, letters, tables, and briefings; establishing and maintaining office and personnel records; preparing, processing and reconciling purchase orders, vouchers, payrolls; reviewing and processing incoming and outgoing mail. OREDUCATION: 4 years above high school ORCOMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of policies and regulations governing Child Development Center programs. 2. Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations applied to administrative and clerical procedures to perform routine procedural work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, screening telephone calls and visitors, processing mail, planning, organizing, and carrying out assignments, and composing routine, nontechnical information for recurring reports and inquiries. 3. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents such as letters, memos, and form letters. Skill in compiling and composing both quantitative and narrative reports for a variety of agencies based on analyzing data and circumstances. 4. Knowledge of money handling techniques and procedures. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy. 6. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and be an effective liaison and leader. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
