Description of Essential Functions:
ELM is seeking a Supervisor for the Dickinson, SD area. This person will be responsible for overseeing a crew of 16-20 Locate Technicians. This person will work in collaboration with, and report to the North Dakota State Director in the Dickinson office location. Supervisor responsibilities include: prioritizing and auditing work, conducting damage investigations, identifying training needs, and interfacing with internal and external customers as needed.
Most job time is spent in field environment with some office work required and exposure to all field hazards. Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds required. Office hours and schedule may vary. Requires up to 5 miles a day walking at least twice a week.
General Qualifications:
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction/locating. Previous locating experience preferred. Demonstrated supervisory skills are desirable. You must also be comfortable working in an outdoor setting, walking significant distances each day in all types of weather, and dealing with all manner of field hazards. Must be able to manage a group of employees with the ability to identify individual strengths and weaknesses. The successful applicant will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with people. Applicants must be self-directed and have the ability to solve problems.
Must have a valid drivers license, pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical, and have an insurable MVR.
