Job Description-
Swamper-Entry Position. T-9
Essential Functions
1. Assist in the assembly and repair of oil filed machinery and equipment at locations;
2. Operate heavy equipment including backhoe; When trained to do so.
3. Assist in the develop, document, and implement quality for construction projects;
4. Dig holes, set posts and perform fencing installation and repair on tank batteries;
5. Learn to build gas well heads and install surface production equipment on tank batteries;
6. Learn to build berms around wells and storage tanks on oil and gas facilities;
7. Abide by all Chief Oilfield Services safe working procedures FBIR, State and Federal regulations;
8. Effectively clean up and remediate oil spills to ensure safe work area;
9. Learn to walk flow lines to locate leaks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-The specific minimum competencies required for job performance
1. Learn the machines and tools commonly used in the oil and gas industry;
2. Possess physical strength needed to perform construction and maintenance duties;
3. Basic math knowledge use din common calculations;
4. Must be a self-starter
5. Learn the possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
6. Learn and possess the ability to safely operate all vehicles involved in roustabout work
Working Conditions, the environment in which the job is performed, especially and unique conditions outside a normal office environment.
1. Consistent with that of a normal field oil and gas construction and well servicing environment;
2. Heavy lifting and frequently strenuous work consist with that of oil field construction and well servicing activities.
Minimum Qualifications
The minimum level of GED education optional, no experience, and no certifications require to perform the job
1. Minimum 1-year oil and gas construction experience (preferred);
2. Able to pass drug test;
3. Valid State of North Dakota driver's license;
T-8 advancement requirements:
Finish 30-day SSE program within 30-60 days signed by supervisor and department manager T-4.
Operate basic equipment
Be able to explain the Chief work site values
Able to prep and set up roustabout truck prior to showing up at job site
