Apex Systems is seeking to hire a Data Architect to help define the data and analytics architecture for the enterprise. You will provide leadership, strategic decision-making, and guidance on digitally enabling the company to best position ourselves to use our data as an asset. This will include researching, architecting, and defining data management, advanced analytics and business intelligence roadmaps that will enable support of the business needs and goals.

Experience Required:

• Cloud Data Lake experience (Azure, Cloudera, Teradata, or Snowflake, etc.)
• 3+ years in an Analytic Architecture role designing technology architectures, detailed workflows, best practices and governance guidelines
• Experience in creating, analyzing and documenting ER and Dimensional models (prefer ERWIN experience)
• Development and tuning on RDBMS technology including Teradata, SingleStore, Oracle or SQL Server

• Experience in developing and tuning ETL processes using PowerCenter, Informatica Data Replication (IDR), webMethods or other comparable tools, preferred
• In-depth experience with data governance tools (prefer the Informatica suite of Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Quality)

Job Duties:

• Create, maintain, and communicate positioning and roadmap strategies for data and analytical capabilities and tools. You will monitor technology trends and perform discovery of any new tools/capabilities of interest.
• Helping with forward thinking projects and migration
• Define data governance processes and responsibilities to ensure alignment to enterprise guidelines for security, auditability, data literacy and metadata management
• Review analytic solutions for re-usability, scalability, synergy opportunities and alignment to defined best practices and guidelines
• Help define/improve best practices, guidelines and integration with other enterprise solutions
• Strategic relationships with technology vendors and external communities/partners
• Lead education and training (i.e. data literacy) for analytics community

Additional Experience:

• SingleStore
• Data governance/data cataloging (to help with pushing this in the future
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development with DevOps methodologies geared toward rapid prototyping and piloting of cloud solutions
• Can phase the delivery of analytical solutions such that it can meet immediate needs, while building towards the long-term strategic solution
• Strong communication skills with the ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions
• Hands-on experience working with analytical technologies like R/Python/RapidMiner and BI technologies like QlikView/Tableau/Power BI

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science or another related field with 7 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, you have 9 years of related experience.
