FULL-TIME

$23/hr

The primary function of this position is to monitor and ready flats of cans to the conveyor, remove packaging material, operate gate to move cans onto appropriate conveyors, fix jams and ensure the efficient flow of material onto the production process and/or the palletizer, wrapper, as well as, inspect, secure and label the full pallets of cases for shipping.

-Setup: Obtain work schedule from supervisor, obtain supplies required to perform the work, and prepare for operations. Report to the assigned production line, check work orders, set-up paperwork, adjust as necessary controls for proper settings

-Sanitation: clean / sanitize equipment as required/specified in the changeover procedures and / other required operations.

-Verification: Check to ensure full pallets of the labels, cases / corrugated are available and/or verify rolls of wrap are available and notify Forklift Operator as needed. Verify and coordinate can code/ dates with outer carton code, label supplies and pre-scan materials as required before operations begin.


-Operations: Operates the Labeler / Case Packer to expected levels of throughputs, operate machine controls and monitor the movement of the cans to production line. Ensure all required materials (labels, cases, glue and/or wrap) are stocked. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. Operates Bright Stacker when needed and complete downtime sheets (LEDs), process control sheets and finish pallet sheet. Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned.


-Quality: Performs are quality checks, maintains records, and urgently elevates quality issues to Area Lead / Team Lead to be addressed in a timely manner.

-Troubleshooting: Operators shall take ownership of basic troubleshooting of assigned equipment; clear can jams, case and pallet jams, remove broken pallets and restack pallets of product as needed. Stop process and re-set machine for new run as required.

-Safety: Team member takes active ownership of his / her safety to prevent workplace injuries. Must meet the requirements of the JSA, essential functions of the job and report any safety and food safety issues to supervision.


-Teamwork: Assist other team members during downtime

Schedule

Shift start: 2:30PM or 11:00PM
Shift length: 8.25 hours
2nd shift: 2:50pm-11pm; 3rd shift 11pm-7am

Qualifications
-Solid work history and work ethic

Previous manufacturing experience preferred, not required

-Previous forklift experience preferred, not required

-Demonstrated dependability with an eagerness to learn
