Material HandlerJob DescriptionThe Material Handler role at Natural Essentials, Inc. DBA as Bulk Apothecary is a hands on role that is primarily responsible for preparing, organizing, wrapping, and shipping all truck orders and/or loads that meet the outbound order size of a LTL classification. This role also includes unloading and loading trucks to assist with the regular volume of inbound/outbound product and material movement at our Shipping & Receiving Docks. This position requires accountability for safe operation of material transport equipment on a regular basis. He/She will be required to use time management skills and a high sense of dock awareness to multi-task in order to keep the dock running efficiently and maintain timely preparation of outbound LTL orders. The Material Handler is responsible for inventory transactions related to material and product usages within company systems related to workload; as well as organizing all outbound shipments in ordinance with our standardized policies and safety regulations. This role is physically demanding, and requires you to lift up to 60lbs, use a pallet jack daily, as well as be able to operate a towmotor for extended period of times. This role is required to work from 7:30am - 4:00pm Mon - Fri. Our 140,000 square foot distributionfacility is located in Aurora, OH.Duties and Responsibilities
Reads and interprets bill of ladings as well as other paperwork
Gathers materials for LTL Orders
Adjusts inventory within company systems to maintain inventory accuracy
Placard pallets with proper labeling in preparation for shipment
Safely stage and load outbound pallets into staging lanes, loads outbound freight into trailers for shipment
Primarily 55 gallon drums and/or large boxes
Organizes truck orders and BOL based on the carrier it ships through; works with Warehouse Dock Supervisor and/or Warehouse Dock Lead to coordinate staging in a methodical fashion
Pulls product for transfers to other internal divisions of the organization
Required to load and unload trucks using a sit down counterbalanced forklift
Wrap outbound freight as required using automated wrapping machine
Required to regularly acquire tasks and workload from Warehouse Dock Lead and / or LTL Outbound Specialist to coordinate all LTL outbound orders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
1-3 Years experience operating a towmotor in a warehouse or fulfillment related role or facility
Experience working in a shipping or receiving related role with both inbound and outbound product or material movement
Exhibit strong organization and communication skills
Must have basic Math skills and basic knowledge of hazmat signs and symbols
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work environment may involve exposure to extreme heat and/or cold, as well as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
Must be able to drive, sit, stand, and/or walk for a minimum of 8 hours
Work environment involves risks such as operating a tow motor as well as other machinery and exposure to chemicals+
