The key functions of a Counter Salesperson are to provide prompt and courteous service to all customers and potential customers. This person must be able to maintain a neat personal appearance and directly interact with customers in a way that establishes good relationships and provides them with efficient, professional service. They must have a working knowledge of automotive systems and components and be able to implement that knowledge by using electronic and paper cataloging systems to accurately serve the customer. The ability to understand, implement, and communicate appropriate sales practices (e.g. Napa product info, warranties, and promotional programs) in order to secure the sale and correct parts for the customer is essential to Counter Sales. In addition, this person must be able to adhere to company policies, perform all duties requested by management, and stay productive on their own. Duties may include but are not limited to handling daily paperwork, operating the telephone and other electronic communication equipment, interacting with customers and potential customers, and utilizing the point of sale invoicing program.

- Possess a working knowledge of automotive, agricultural, and industrial systems
- Be able to look up parts on electronic and paper cataloging systems
- Participate in training assigned by management
- Demonstrate professional attitude, conduct, and physical appearance
- Work well with others in a team sales environment
- Be able to stay organized and work in a fast paced environment
- Must possess a valid drivers license with good driving recor
