We are now hiring for a Kitchen Manager to join the new management team of RJ Cinema | Distillery | Taproom. We are in search of an entrepreneurial-minded creative kitchen leader for an innovative movie theater and taproom operation. Youâll have a ground floor opportunity to curate, refine and execute a simple menu that delivers an excellent experience to our guests, and a profitable return to the business. Job Duties:
Responsible for the overall operations for the back of house and kitchen area of a restaurant
Hire staff, purchase food and stock, train staff on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques
Ensure that the companyâs standards are upheld: the food looks good and is cooked properly, the proportions are correct, and it is cooked and served quickly
Responsible for the overall kitchen food and safety: properly cleaned on a regular schedule, food is disposed of properly and the kitchen meets all sanitary standards
Budget for and Maintain food cost, waste and employee hours
Create the best dining experience possible for customers
Basic Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Kitchen Leader, Restaurant Manager or Chef
Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
Knowledge of a wide range of cooking techniques
Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations (Level 2 Food Safety Certification a plus)
Excellent organizational skills
Conflict management abilities
Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends and holidays
Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
Requirements, Physical Skills & Training:
Must be able to stand on your feet for 8 hours a day or longer
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to crouch, sit, and stand with full mobility
