Responsible for monitoring production and reporting on production issues for a specific set of equipment. Investigates non-conforming results, identifies root cause, and creates plans for implementing corrective action. Must be able to enter and analyze data in computer systems, keep good records, and perform work with no supervision safely and effectively. Narrows focus on specific process trains to implement new procedures, processes/process improvements and raw materials. Will interact with R&D as necessary to ensure the facility is using state of the art processes.Key List of Expected Duties or BehaviorsPerforms all work in a safe manner, knows and reviews both laboratory and plant safety rules. Maintains work accuracy at a high level of personal expertise in order to ensure the procedures are accurately followed and results properly recorded. Ensures that SOP?s, information systems, calibration programs, ISO requirements and company procedures are adequately implemented and maintained to ensure compliance with all company QMS requirements. Must use Teamwork to interact and work with employees at all levels. Ensure adequate test materials are available at all times for instrument calibration and assist in calibration when necessary.Identify and record product quality problems, notifying the production supervisor or the Technical Manager of same.Promote safety and assist in the elimination of unsafe conditions and safety hazards.When necessary for quality control, determine product quality from various stages of the operation by performing application testing and using the results to recommend changes in process parameters.Assist manufacturing in the scheduling of batches through all facets of production areas.Perform statistical analysis on the process and resultant quality to ensure optimum quality is achieved and equipment usage is maximized.Ensure the ISO requirements are met as they apply to the activities of the process chemists.Investigate the cause of off-quality batches using the CIR process system.5-10 years experience in plant technical or R&D.
