The First Step Home is seeking a Part-Time Child Care Provider for the following days and times:
Monday from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The duties and responsibilities of this position are the following:
1. Provide or oversee the direct care of children ages 0-12.
2. Ensure the safety and security of children at First Step Home and ensure they are under the supervision of their mothers and/or staff at all times.
3. Communicate relevant information about children to the Residential Treatment Team and the Transitional Treatment Team.
4. Maintain accurate records according to ODADAS and Carf standards.
5. Responsible for submitting all documents relevant to services rendered according to First Step Home, Inc. standards.
6. Responsible for following all safety rules and safe health practices of First Step Home, Inc.
7. Comply with all agency polices, procedures and directives of immediate supervisor, the President/CEO and the Board of Trustees of First Step Home, Inc.
8. Follow the Core Values of First Step Home, Inc.
9. Other duties as assigned.
The qualifications for this position are the following:
1. Must possess a High School diploma/GED.
2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
3. Two years experience working with children, preferably in the area of chemical dependency.
4. Must be able to pass agency background checks.
First Step Home is a residential and outpatient treatment program dedicated to women's centered care for addictions and co-occurring mental health and trauma related issues. The agency is nationally accredited by CARF and certified to provide services by the Ohio Mental Health Addiction Services Board. The agency is focused on bringing best practices, collaborative partnerships and diversification of funding needed to address the needs of women of all ages and life stages that bring complex issues to the recovery program.
First Step Home was founded in 1993 in response to the need for a residential treatment facility that would permit children, ages 0 through 12, to live with their mother during treatment. This facility increased participation in substance abuse treatment and reduced the barrier of women being forced to place their children in foster care for extended periods of time.
