Job Opportunity – Maintenance Supervisor with Kao Collins in Cincinnati, OH

Kao Collins is part of the Kao Corporation, which is a global leader in personal hygiene, laundry, food, cosmetic, and specialty chemical products. At Kao Collins, we formulate and manufacture innovative inkjet inks for high-speed printing, single-pass printing, and wide-format printing using a variety of technologies. We are stretching the limits of what inkjet can print on, like ceramics, textiles and the first water-based ink for flexible film packaging.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and performing preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment and building-related items to ensure continuous operation of facilities. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

Interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and developing employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; scheduling and prioritizing work.

Perform duties and responsibilities as required if Maintenance Technician is unavailable.

Coordinate activities with contractors on-site. Act as security escort for contractors as needed. Supervises the work and safety performance of all mechanical and grounds contract work.

Maintain adequate supply levels of tools, parts, supplies, or items needed for equipment or building maintenance. Determine critical parts needed for continuous operation of equipment and building-related items and obtain spare parts as required.

Provide training and guidance for proper machine or equipment operation.

Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

Evaluate equipment, systems, or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed and determine if external consultation is necessary.

Work with other departments to assist or improve their needs or capabilities.

Respond to emergency issues (such as equipment or building).

Maintain a work area free of hazardous conditions (grease/oil spills, excess supplies, equipment, tools, etc.).

Maintains adherence to “The Kao Way” standard and company policies at all times.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and have experience working with a wide variety of mechanical tools and equipment. You must have strong technical understanding with an understanding of basic mechanical principals. Other requirements of this position include:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of maintenance and repair.

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge and skills to do basic repairs or maintenance work (or be able to learn and acquire these skills).

This includes, but not limited to: painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, landscaping, roofing, and welding.

Knowledgeable with equipment, such as, but not limited to: air compressors, pumps, motors, and mixers.

Experience using machine shop tools, such as, but not limited to: drills, saws, sanders, etc.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that are not always evident.

Ability to identify needs and prioritize work independently.

Strong communication well with plant manager as well as other departments.

Ability to finish tasks or projects in a timely fashion as directed by their manager.

Employee must have some basic knowledge and skills using computers or software programs (including MS Office, such as Excel, Word, and Outlook). Must be able to learn other software programs.
