The successful candidate in the Computer Field Support Technician role provides technical assistance and support to internal and external customers at our company and its clients. Supports, monitors, and maintains remote client locations. Performs day-to-day maintenance and support. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve problems as well as document all steps taken for resolution
  • Comprehension of networking protocols and concepts such as TCP/IP addressing, sub-netting, and VLANS
  • Ability to relay diagnostic information to engineering and networking departments
  • Perform software/hardware upgrades
  • Install, maintain, and repair network equipment, desktop hardware, and PC peripherals
  • Responsible for maintaining daily service calls and meeting requested SLA time frames based on client expectations
  • Familiarity with network-based PC Operating System deployment over multiple platforms as well as thin client environment
  • Provide detailed progress reports and project updates in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to relay technical information and instruction to client representatives who possess varying ranges of technical knowledge and background
  • Work with client facilities departments to ensure physical cabling infrastructure meets desired standards.
  • Ability to repeatedly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work from elevated locations such as on ladders or scaffolding
  • Maintain physical asset inventory maintenance

REQUIREMENTS
  • Understanding and familiarity with published IT policies and procedures
  • Process-oriented (Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation & Support)
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • High-level customer service skills
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player
  • Experience working in a technical support environment
  • Ability to diagnose and accurately report networking problems
  • A+, Network+, Microsoft (Desktop or Server), Cisco certifications are desirable
  • An associates degree in a technical field is desirable
  • Basic understanding of varying versions of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Basic understanding of VoIP telephony
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications local and hosted including an exchange environment and Office365
  • Ability to work with clients, technical staff, and vendors
  • Ability to lift and carry IT hardware as needed
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • May require evening and weekend work and occasional on-call responsibilities
  • May require more than 40 hours a week
  • Local and occasional long-distance travel is required
