Job Summary:Collects and distributes clean or soiled linen and scrubs for efficient functioning of the organization. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.Responsibilities:

Collects, stocks and distributes clean or soiled linens.

Performs daily inventory to ensure clean linen and scrubs are accurately stocked for distribution.

Identifies items for replacement.

Records and processes lab coat and uniform orders.

Assists with fitting of new uniforms. Issues lab coats and uniforms to authorized users.

Sorts and inspects uniforms returned from offsite laundry for quality.

Operates heat seal, button and embroidery machines.

Delivers lab coats and uniforms to staff physicians locker rooms or coat closets.

Unloads soiled linens from gravity fed chutes.

Assembles various linen packs for use in Surgery and other departments.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications:

None required.

Complexity of Work:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

Will receive on the job training.

Computer data entry experience preferred.

Six months experience in a customer service or laundry environment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.

Requires working with some exposure to communicable disease.

Heavy work: carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently and a push/pull force up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
