Line Cooks are responsible for preparing ingredients and executing service of menu items according to specifications set forth by Michael Symon Restaurants. This position ensures that all Mabel’s guests receive exceptional high quality food in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
• Follow all cooking techniques and recipes as instructed by Chefs and Sous Chefs
• Follow all food handling and safety guidelines as specified by the restaurant’s Chefs and by the Cuyahoga County Board of Health
• Set up your station and prepare food according to Specifications
• Work in and maintain a clean work area
• Report to the General Manager, Executive Chef, and Sous Chefs and work equally with the culinary team
Requirements
• Demonstrate a solid knowledge of all Mabel’s menu items
• The ability to follow all standard recipes, food preparation and cooking techniques
• Ability to work quickly and cleanly while preparing properly cooked and visually appealing food
• Ability to work closely with fellow employees in a professional manner
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm composure and a friendly demeanor
• Must maintain personnel hygiene in accordance to the Cuyahoga County Board of Health standards for food service employees
• Understand how to use and maintain all kitchen equipment
• The ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for long periods of time
• Come to work on time and with a positive attitude every shift
• Following all policies and procedures as listed in the Mabel’s Employee Manual
• High school diploma and food safety training will be considered a plus
All Line Cooks will undergo a 5-day training period after which they will function under a 60-day probationary work period. Successful completion of training is dependent on performance approval of the restaurant’s Executive Chef.
