Under the direct supervision of the Director, the individual in this position is responsible for the daily operational functions relative to staffing of all Food and Child Nutrition Services positions. This individual will effectively interact with food service personnel, school principals, the Talent Department, HR Partner, Safety and Security as well as any external partner.

Responsibilities:

-Interviews, screens and recommends employees for hire

-Works in collaboration with HR Partner, Safety and Security and other district offices to follow up on staffing issues

-Conducts Food and Child Nutrition Services onboarding process for all new hires in relation to new hire information needed

-Communicates transition plans for all employees changing positions which may include pay, vacation, location, contact, parking or other pertinent information

-Recruit the proper candidates for each appropriate position and throughout Food and Child Nutrition Services

-Conducts job fairs as needed

-Use personal skills to articulate the division and how the candidate may be a good fit for the position

-Receives correspondence from Food and Child Nutrition employees who are calling off from work and staffs each school with qualified employees. Sets staffing of substitute employees where needed on a daily basis

-Sets staffing levels for each school kitchen by evaluating workload, meals served and mode of operation. Develops reporting for staffing decisions including standard deviation of hours and labor hour per meals served. Evaluate the number of substitutes needed to operate daily

-Evaluates all substitute staff

-Follows up on all substitute staff during his/ her probation period. Gives constructive criticism when needed for professional growth. Commends employees for exceptional work

-Evaluates turnover and reasons employees leave Food and Child Nutrition Services

-Develops and implements strategies for employee retention

-Conducts hourly rate comparisons and presents detailed reports as well as hourly rate recommendations to the director as needed

-Conducts formal training for new substitute staff

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required

Possess and effectively utilize experience in task areas associated with position

Minimum of three years' experience to include expertise of staffing, recruiting, retention, performance management

Possess and effectively utilize above average organizational and communication skills

Ability to set priorities of work to be completed and coordinate many activities simultaneously

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Expected moving, walking and standing consistent with an office environment and occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms

The employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a normal office environment

Local travel may be required for training/meetings
