Apex Systems is seeking a highly qualified IT Tester for a large government agency located in Cleveland, OH. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Tester who has experience testing and programming for the past 5+ years. The web application you will be supporting provides over 4600 users with 24x7 access. Java and Oracle database. Title: IT Software Tester
Location: Cleveland, OH (downtown)
Length: 1+ year contract with possible full-time

Candidate MUST Pass a Public trust

Required Skills: 5+ years of exp

• Oracle PL/SQL exposure
• Must have professional IT Testing experience
• HP Quality Center/ALM software
• Desire to start off testing and then moving into a programming role
• Oracle Database
• Automated testing experience highly desired

Responsibilities:

• Test Script/Plan development/execution
• Test Deficiency Report management
• Test Readiness Reviews
• System Acceptance Testing
• Create / maintain databases of known test defects.
• Work across departments to validate actual test results against expected results.
• Review and document defects against business documentation throughout the systems development life-cycle.
• Verify and revise quality assurance standards as needed.
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
• Analyze complex situations and recommend solutions to the client.
• Recommend areas for process improvement.

Addition Technologies and Skills:

• Experience with System Development Life Cycle models (Primarily Waterfall, Agile is possible) required.
• 6 + years of software testing experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of Quality Center software
• Knowledge of IT Service Management practices is beneficial.
• Excellent interpersonal, consultative skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
• Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, or function in a team as needed.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for full product development life-cycle desired.
• Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels of management.
• Highly adaptive and flexible to a changing environment.
• Working knowledge of PL/SQL a plus.
