We are three families looking for an educator to help guide our children during the upcoming 2020 – 2021 school year while they are being educated at home due to Covid-19.
We are a liberal minded, socially aware family group, who is looking for a like-minded educator. An educator who is comfortable with the topics of equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice is appreciated. Educators with a background in experience based learning model rather than formal learning is also preferred, but not required.
Duties:
Supervise and educate a group of children in grades 3-8 while school takes place at home due to Covid-19.
Curriculum is provided by the school district, but the at home educator will be responsible for keeping the group of kids on task, answering questions, individualized teaching as needed and enrichment activities.
Support and mentor the children in a structured and scheduled day which includes academic activities, recess, lunch, read aloud, outdoor learning and enrichment activities.
Help create a classroom environment for a mixed-age academic group.
Qualifications:
Undergrad or graduate education major or graduate
Must be practicing social distance guidelines provided by the State of Ohio
Kind, compassionate, patient, creative and enthusiastic
Logistics:
Ideal candidate is available 3-5 days per week, with hours from 9-3pm. We do have some flexibility with days/times.
We are located in Upper Arlington, Ohio, about 10 minutes away from the Ohio State University campus.
Negotiable salary, depending on experience.
Term is August 19 - May 27, 2021, with flexible start and end dates. We will follow the school district dates for holidays and breaks.
