Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer / Sr. Network Engineer

This job will have the following responsibilities:

The Sr. Network Engineer plans, designs, analyzes, maintains and installs network devices on the enterprise network infrastructure and Voice over IP (VoIP) systems. Assists in the development and maintenance of network infrastructure communications. Helps design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Provides support to other departments, vendors and business organizations. Assists in the area of network architecture. Assists in directing, mentoring and advising network team members. Determines overall communications requirements and capacity planning to best meet the organization needs. Performs a variety of tasks and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

• Designs, installs, and maintains network infrastructure equipment with high-end technology solutions related to corporate data communication network infrastructure including Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Frame Relay network, MPLS, Firewall, VPN, VoIP systems, and Voice Messaging Systems.

• Identifies and resolves communication hardware and software related failures and issues. Ensures network and business continuity through the implementation and management of redundant and disaster/recovery procedures and location.

• Analyzes, identifies, and resolves network infrastructure operational issues related to voice and data communication. Assists in supporting all server and storage platforms that communicate through the network.

• Collaborates with managers in the development of new network design updates and defines integration strategies for data and VoIP applications. Sets direction and long-term strategic vision for all Network Infrastructure Communication Architecture.

• Studies vendor products to determine which best meet the organization's needs. Assists in presentation of information to management resulting in purchase and installation of network equipment.

• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions. Mentors less experienced engineers and trains them through both formal and informal training programs.

• Provides third level support for communications issues including VoIP and LAN/WAN issues.

• Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.

• Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

• Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

• Develops and documents network infrastructure models, plans, diagrams, illustrations and procedures for the network team, IT Services Desk, and Store Help Desk.

• Adheres to best practices including maintenance windows and change control procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with significant coursework in Cisco/Arista certified classes or Computer Science preferred but not required. CCNA and/or CCNP/CCVP certifications and Cisco IP telephony a plus.

• Six to eight years of work experience in a corporate network environment required.

• Advanced knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and related software along with in-depth knowledge and exposure to Sonnet Ring, Frame Relay, MPLS, OC12, DS3, DS1, Virtual Private Networks, Wireless communication (WLC & WSC), Load Balancers (CSS & ACE) switches, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, QoS and firewalls required.

• Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP and various network protocols required.

• Advanced knowledge and experience with VoIP and IP telephony technologies including Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unified Contact Center - IP IVR Applications and VM Systems preferred.

• Experience with Arista Network equipment, including the CVP management tool, required.

• Experience with Cradlepoint technologies such as the 2200 series and API programming/automation skills required.

• Experience with Ubiquiti networks, both wireless and switching including Controller management required.

• Ability to install, program, and script changes associated with network management software tools including TACACS, Radius, Configuration Management tolls (Voyence, Solarwinds, Etc.) along with the ability to install and program network hardware, routers, switches and cabling required.

• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills required.

• Flexibility to travel and work hours outside of normal work schedule as required.
