Orrick has an exciting opening for a Pitch Center Specialist who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm. This position can sit in our Global Operations Center (GOC) in Wheeling WV or one of our U.S. practice offices.

As a member of the Pitch Center and at the direction of the Pitch Center Senior Manager, you will play a dynamic role in supporting the firm’s, department’s and team’s objectives and strategies. In this role, you will provide direct support to our practice Marketing team members and lawyers in the execution of client-focused opportunity responses for the Energy & Infrastructure practices. Additional key responsibilities will include opportunity outcome collection, content management and updates, and additional assigned initiative support.

What responsibilities will you have?

Your responsibilities will include the following and be primarily focused within the Energy & Infrastructure practices:

• In collaboration with lawyers and staff, you will lead pitch, proposal and RFP response drafting and coordination

• You will regularly analyze and review practice marketing collateral to ensure effective and consistent messaging on the practice/industry/geography and firmwide levels

• Collaborating with a wide team of contributors, you will lead superior maintenance and organization of marketing materials within the department’s materials library

• You will manage comprehensive review of opportunity data for assigned pitches, proposals and RFPs, including outreach to partners for opportunity outcomes

• You will regularly review current experience related to assigned practices areas, ensuring its inclusion in core materials

• You will participate in pitch debrief sessions to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement

• Additional team initiative and special project participation will be assigned to you at discretion of manager

Your Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in marketing, business, communications, English or other related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience. Prior law firm or professional services firm experience preferred.

• Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft a compelling corporate story within a sales context.

• Energy & Infrastructure sector knowledge a plus.

• Extraordinary attention to detail and proofreading skills. Applicants may be required to provide a writing sample during the interview process.

• Advanced ability to analyze large amount of information and data for key takeaways and crafting of messaging points.

• Excellent word-processing computer and Internet skills necessary; high proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as SharePoint.

• Ability to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: Orrick's Biography Tool, ServiceNow Project Management Platform; Orrick's Proposal Software; Orrick's Portal; and Relevant Marketing Resources therein, such as: O(ex); Enterprise Search; Client Snapshot; and eReports.

• Strong project management skills, including independent discernment and decision-making with strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to gain agreement and to build positive relationships within the firm through quality work and through leadership.

• Extraordinary ability to adapt to changing list of priorities and excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.

• Highly productive, flexible and can handle stress with the ability to effectively balance projects and prioritize tasks.
