Job description
Primary Functions:
Supervise personnel, and efficiently manage the resources of production operations in the Lathe Machine Department. Consistently work to assure on time delivery of a quality product.
Major Duties / Responsibilities:
Maintain production readiness of machines, fixtures and tools.
Schedule and monitor labor, work assignments and assigned machines for first and second shifts.
Maintain and control process documentation for CNC Lathes, plus other machines assigned.
Identify nonconformities and initiate internal tag.
Troubleshoot machining process.
Assist Engineering in development of machining processes.
Provide technical training and monitor progress of employees.
Assure department area and equipment is maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
Program, set-up and operate various CNC Lathes.
Ensure daily maintenance logs.
Maintaining department schedule within Global Shop (ERP System)
Assist in determining which machine to use for each job in regards to labor capacity, and ability to make the part.
Abide to and enforce all AS9100 processes and procedures in relation to the Lathe Department.
Education:
High School Diploma
Some college and/or Technical School
Experience:
6 years minimum machine shop experience.
5 years minimum CNC Lathe experience.
Skills & Abilities:
Time management skills in setting priorities and meeting manufacturing due dates.
Proficient in Lathe set-ups and troubleshooting.
Use all forms of inspection equipment and devices.
Ability to evaluate talent.
Dedication to job at hand.
Ability to read and understand moderate to complex drawings.
Must be able to perform mathematical calculations.
