Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Deerfield Manufacturing - Mason, Ohio.
General Function: Perform quality audits in accordance with written instructions to include customer requirements using gages, micrometers, calipers, and CMM. Also to include duties of Line Auditor.
Job Duties:
Perform 1st piece and quality verification layouts per Auditor check sheet instructions. This is in accordance with written instructions as per customer requirements.
Responsible for 1st and last piece and re-OK inspections for all production operations, type of inspection to be recorded on the check sheet.
Responsible for rejecting, containing, and tagging all nonconforming product.
Complete tool work order when necessary based upon last piece inspection.
Assure that set-up verification documentation accompanies 1st piece sample submission.
Tag and/or mark 1st piece sample, this must be retained throughout the production run for reference.
If required, perform incoming checks for all purchased parts per check sheet instructions.
Perform gage R&R and weekly stability studies.
Issue gages to floor upon approval of 1st piece and purge gages when last piece inspection is completed.
Assist production with problem-solving on quality issues.
Assure that the traceability system is maintained per procedure.
Required to help in achieving production standards.
Willing to fill in for quality as needed, to include moving to other shifts.
All other duties as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
Plant environment, using correct gages and instruments as required per job(s) running.
Document all findings at the time of quality checks.
Standing and walking 7.7 hours, capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. to include; pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and some stooping.
Education/Experience:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
Mathematically inclined, use of gages and measurement tools.
Basic computer skills and use of CMM.
Understanding of QMS and TS-16949.
Other Requirements: Willing to pursue courses of instruction as outlined by Quality Manager or Sr. Quality Engineer. Required to work any and all overtime as scheduled by production or Sr. Quality Engineer.
