The Dock and Logistics Coordinator position is a working physical leadership position to support the Logistics Manager and the Dock Labor Team - helping to manage the dock area in partnership with our logistics manager and dock employees.

Responsibilities
During Spring, peak season and Summer-Fall (Mid-March thru Mid-October) work effectively alongside Bell Dock Employees and provide those employees with direction and support to complete tasks for the day.
Loading Outbound Trucks
Ensure accuracy of product loaded on outbound trucks and accurate processing of associated outbound (product and Bell Carts) paperwork for processing by office staff.
Receiving Inbound Trucks
Ensure accurate receiving of inbound product on the dock and processing of paperwork for both the drivers and Bell Office Staff.
Communication and Teamwork
Effective and positive communication with all truck drivers, both Bell Nursery Drivers and 3rd Party Contractors, both inbound and outbound.
Work effectively with Bell staff to coordinate inbound trucks into appropriate dock positions for unloading of product.
Work with greenhouse management and greenhouse labor to help facilitate timing and correct placement in the dock area of in-house production being pulled/picked each day for processing on the dock outbound truck loading.
Seasonality
Slower shipping months of October, November, December, January, February and early March will allow for the Dock and Logistics Coordinator to help support Bell Nursery Ohio in other areas such as production, greenhouse plant maintenance and plant movement tasks, as well as supporting the maintenance team where able on projects/tasks.
In time, the Dock and Logistics Coordinator will be trained on a broader overview of Logistics and the processes by Logistics Manager, Brian Mason; truck routing, ticket processing, label printing, etc. that will provide added bench strength to Bell Nursery Ohio Logistics Team.
Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
Confer with manager and review schedules, specifications, and priorities to plan departmental work assignments.
Assign duties to workers and oversees department activities.
Load and unload materials in warehouse.
Put away orders as directed
Stage items for loading onto trucks
Locate the correct items through site or UPC tags.
Apply correct signage to carts.
Ensuring all loads are being loaded/unloaded properly and timely.
Enter information into the TMS for this location.
Routing of trucks delivering to the Midwest stores.
Qualifications
Ability to input data on computer to create a daily inventory report.
Accuracy in record keeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Ability to withstand exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock.
Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds
Strong work ethic
Ability to pull and or push rolling carts
Proven history of punctuality
Access to reliable transportation
