Job Description

This is a new role created to focus on two areas

1.

Finance responsibility for new acquisitions: Initial focus will be as Finance Director for Forum Lighting, a specification-grade luminaire manufacturer based in Pittsburgh, PA, selling 100% LED products recently acquired by Current. It has an excellent reputation with top lighting designers and is well regarded in the lighting specification community. This role will partner with the new GM and support transition with the outgoing CFO with responsibility for day-to-day accounting, financial management and reporting. As other potential acquisitions occur, this role will support as needed.

Responsibility for finance projects. As we work on finance functional productivity and improving reporting and controls this role would co-ordinate the larger, cross-functional projects in the function requiring tax, accounting, reporting, treasury and IT support, ensuring the development, management and execution of tactical project plans and escalation of risks and dependencies as needed. A primary focus will be on areas related to policies, legal entities, general ledger and accounting activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Acquisitions

  • Accumulating and consolidating all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of the business results and submission to headquarters
  • Forecasting and reporting on business results and performance with appropriate KPIs, including development of annual financial plan and updated forecasts
  • Forecast and manage cash and working capital requirements
  • Management and oversight of AR, AP and inventory, including driving improved efficiency
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes, and identification of areas to integrate with headquarters.
  • Support commercial activities, including assessing deal profitability and paying commissions
  • Complete acquisition accounting and valuation requirements.

Projects

  • Establish project management framework and methodology to execute multiple deliverables
  • Identify finance policies and processes with opportunities for improvement with finance stakeholders and assess cost/benefits
  • Develop tactical project plans, including identification of resources and timelines, and co-ordinate execution of plan.
  • Execute tasks related to projects identified in the plans
  • Build consensus and buy in for change, and communicate status with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Controllership, Accounting or Audit and managing staff
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Must be self-directed, with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Advanced problem resolution and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision-making, multi-tasking and execution abilities under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver project (or similar) outcomes
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethics in all activities.
  • Experience with ERPs and MS Office required
  • Ability to travel frequently within the US.
