Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in an engineering discipline from four-year college or university; and minimum three (3) years related experience and/or training.
  • Manufacturing experience in cold heading strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cold heading, centerless grinding, hot forging, and roll threading preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and AutoCad preferred.

What You'll Do
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be part of our Fasteners Management team located in Elyria, OH.
Specifically, you'll:
  • Establish product definition and documentation, identifying the optimal production method, designing tooling, supporting production, reducing costs, improving quality, and driving 6S Lean principles
  • Provide leadership when assigned projects and be able to work well with others when part of a team
  • Repair equipment in the field to the satisfaction of the customer, giving all available support possible
  • Review customer drawings and inquiries; determine manufacturing methodology and rates, material requirements
  • Provide cost data for quotations
  • Assist customers in developing the optimal product
  • Establish product function and critical characteristics for the customers' application
  • Design and prepare product drawings, operations sheets, process instructions, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams
  • Work with quality assurance in developing control plans
  • Design all necessary tooling and fixtures required for product manufacture
  • Integrate new products into the manufacturing system
  • Provide manufacturing support on equipment, tooling, and processes
  • Provide engineering assistance to the tool crib and tool room in the tooling/fixture manufacture
  • Evaluate, recommend, and provide technical expertise for new equipment acquisition
  • Coordinate the primary and secondary processing of products with secondary operation suppliers
  • Establish bills of material, routings, and production rates and enter data into business computer system
  • Identify methods for improving efficiency, reducing waste, re-organizing work flow, and establishing product packaging and warehousing methods
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology advances in manufacturing
  • Initiate and implement new methods
