This organization supports MPL’s general operations through oversight, project work and other key initiatives. The Product Quality Professional will support our mission to provide innovative leadership and technical support to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products to the various markets throughout our pipeline system. A high value is placed on finding candidates possessing strong competencies, especially communication and critical thinking skills. The position offers the opportunity for regular exposure to a variety of MPC and MPLX operating components.Possible Locations are Findlay, OH; Salt Lake City, UT; or Los Angeles, CAResponsibilities:

Lead and participate in cross-organizational work groups to develop, maintain and continuously improve quality standards, procedures and practices using the Operational Excellence Management system approach.

Lead and/or participate in investigations of quality incidents to determine cause and contributory circumstances; confer with appropriate management personnel; and assist with the development of innovative solutions and process improvements to prevent recurrences. Work with personnel at all levels across the company, as well as external stakeholders, to effectively implement improvements.

Anticipate and identify current and systemic quality issues and develop innovative solutions to address and resolve issues while considering the impact on other business units within the company. This may include data gathering and analysis of business/operational data.

Provide technical assistance for the correction of off-specification product discovered in the company’s distribution system. Perform on-call services to provide technical support during/after a quality event.

Lead or participate in cross-organizational teams to respond to major quality incidents.

Initiate and coordinate the development of quality knowledge documents, information manuals, presentations, training material and programs, and communicate subject matter effectively within the company and within the industry as required.

Perform Quality Audits of MPL facilities.

Participate in industry-related product and crude oil quality organizations.

Actively participate as a team member in asset expansions and on-boarding projects from a quality perspective.

Qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree is required in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field and two years or more of engineering, laboratory, process or field operations experience is required.
