Design and develop programs, set-up, check programs, operate and adjust automatic numerically controlled machine tools and/or CNC machining equipment to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements.
Understand program format, work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications defining and coding tooling, fixturing, machine arrangements.
Recommend tooling applications and operational sequence to assist in developing practical programming for new and unusual machining requirements.
May set-up for and instruct Machine Operators of lower classification.
Recognize, report and correct errors.
Coordinate and support CNC Operator team with work direction and training. Assist manager with scheduling and work assignments.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or its equivalent
Accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training (2 year degree)
Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations
Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
