JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the administration and execution of Life Underwriting Quality Assurance Program, including reviewing new and renewal policies to ensure accuracy and quality of data. Performs duties within established company practices and procedures with latitude for independent judgment, discretion, and initiative.
CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provides review and analysis of life new business and reissues.
•Performs broad review of insured operations using internet tools, insured websites, applications submitted to the company, underwriting documentation, etc.
•Identifies and considers potential remedies, and recommends best remedies among those considered.
•May assist team members with more complex files and referrals.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
•Bachelor's degree preferred.
Knowledge:
•Proficiency in conflict resolution.
•Ability to learn life underwriting and pricing risks both at the individual risk level and overall book management level, company products, program guides underwriting standards and philosophy, interface applications, all applicable special account insurance coverages.
•State statutes and regulations pertaining to underwriting assignments.
Skills/Competencies:
•Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills.
•Excellent judgment in choosing courses of action.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to use personal computer.
