Description: Our client is currently seeking a Hardware/RF Product Development Engineer.

The Hardware/RF Product Development Engineer responsibilities are:

1.Participates in the design, implementation, test, documentation, and validation of our products and hardware for Wi-Fi sensor product lines.

2.Responsible for technical interaction with outside contract engineers and layout designers of RF circuits, PC board antennas, digital circuit boards, and custom plastic housings/mechanical components.

3.Works closely with software development teams and customer support teams to solve product problems.

4.Involved in the development of factory automated test systems hardware specific to RF products in production.

5.Perform tests, troubleshooting, and debug of hardware and some low-level systems during the development process and throughout the product life cycle.

6.Generates and maintains appropriate documentation, specifications, and design notes.

7.Provide schedule inputs for areas of responsibility.

Desired Skills and Experience:

The preferred candidate has:

5 to 7 years experience in Radio Frequency (RF) hardware product development environment

oWorking knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) development techniques, 802.11 wireless communications, and antennas, 802.11 (Wi-Fi) networking experience oUse RF spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, high-speed digital oscilloscopes, RF modulation analyzers, Network analyzers and other radio test equipment.

oWork with OEM vendors to specify, qualify and approve RF hardware platforms and subsystems

oWork with regulatory consultants to generate and submit FCC & worldwide regulatory submissions oSupport factory BOMs, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), replacement components, factory test oKnowledge of high-speed digital circuit design techniques, microprocessors, memory chips, Flash oWork with Electrical & Mechanical design contractors, specifying, reading, approving drawings

oExperience doing troubleshooting throughout the product life-cycle

Ideally has some software development experience:

oSome C/C experience is a plus

oLinux operating system, kernel architecture, bootloaders

oScripting e.g. python, Bash

oAutomated testing and verification techniques e.g. fixtures

Provides development schedules and project execution

Good oral and written communication skills

Education/Technical Training/Skills:

Bachelors or higher degree in RF Engineering, EE, or equivalent.

Hands-on experience soldering and working with chip-scale components
