What you’ll be doing You will be a part of an Implementation Team focused on engineering wireless engineering solutions for Verizon’s Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia Market (OPW) in support of our key strategic initiatives, including 5G/4G and intelligent Edge Network (iEN). As Principal Engineer, your technical abilities, communication skills and ability to deliver results will be key to your success. Your commitment to task and interaction with cross-functional groups to improve the equipment engineering process will be critical. You will help drive operational excellence across our network organization by ensuring that the appropriate network equipment specifications meet operational and network standards. You must leverage data analysis and tools to optimize equipment engineering of large numbers of sites across the market area. You will be expected to have superior collaborative skills to provide technical solutions for a range of technological challenges.

Accountable for driving complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.

Ensuring on-time delivery of equipment engineering solutions to align with business requirements.

Building and maintaining excellent communication and relationships with several cross-functional teams.

Collaborating with regional teams to understand their deployment strategy and capital budgets distribution.

Identifying, monitoring, reporting and escalating project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.

Developing and implementing procedural corrective action plans to mitigate the impact on project schedules and overall business objectives.

Creating presentations for executive-level read-outs on the progress of each program.

Monitoring direct contractor function and task status in support of the plan-of-record.

What we’re looking for You'll need to have:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Valid Driver's License.

Willingness to travel.

Willingness to lead meetings and travel when necessary.

Even better if you have:

Master’s degree.

PMP Certification.

Capability to perform statistical analysis of workflows to increase efficiency.

Technical and project management knowledge.

Experience in performing engineering on numerous site types and wireless technologies establishing process improvement.

Ability to collect and analyze data to measure gaps, performances, and use of data for efficiency purposes.

Knowledge of wireless base station equipment and antenna systems.

Knowledge of wireless network infrastructure both 5G and 4G topology.

Experience in Engineering or an Engineering support function.

Written, verbal, presentation skills and organizational skills.

Experience with Site Tracker and FUZE SPM.

Knowledge of PC and software applications including Windows, Visio and MS Office.
