Oberholtzer Hog Corporation is a family owned farm in the business of making baby pigs. We have 10 full time employees and are looking for a person who likes working with animals to join our team and help care for the sows (the mother pigs). The main responsibilities of this position are feeding, breeding, and vaccinating the sows, as well as power washing pens. An ability to do minor maintenance work is a major plus for any applicant. This is not a heavy lifting job, but does require a lot of walking and crossing fences, so good physical condition is essential. Prior experience is not required as we train on the job, and farm clothing and boots are provided.
This first shift job starts at $16.00/hour and pays time and a half for overtime, which is generally available. All employees work every third weekend, with Mondays off after working the weekend. The average work week is 43-45 hours. After 3 months we provide health insurance and include employees in our profit sharing-bonus plan. After a year we provide one week of paid vacation and a retirement plan after 3 years. After 6 months we are willing to match an employee's contribution to the purchase of an approved vehicle, up to $5,000.
