Job Description

The Documentation Engineer will be a part of the Global Product group that oversees all product lines for the company. This role will be responsible for all customer-facing documentation for our authentication platform. The Documentation Engineer is a highly cross-functional role that will include working with many internal and external teams to gain critical feedback and allow us to quickly iterate our technical documentation. The Documentation Engineer must be able to create and maintain all developer-centric APIs and user guides. This role will encompass increasing the ease of integration into our platform but also research and develop new ways of engaging with our technical customers such as developers, solution engineers, and users within our portal applications.

What You'll Do:

  • Write, edit, and publish high-quality developer-friendly documentation for a technically skilled audience of developers, solution engineers, and architects.
  • Lead technical documentation strategy and execution.
  • Become a solution expert and serve as a key link between engineers, technical product managers, and customers who integrate into our platform.
  • Work within the agile teams to develop, own, and iterate on internal and external documentation.
  • Lead engagement with Global Business Strategy & Operations and Commercialization teams to deliver documentation and training sessions with internal stakeholders.
  • Inventory all documentation, interview stakeholders, and develop a plan to execute on the documentation strategy.
  • Lead customer feedback sessions.
  • Help guide our documentation and developer engagement strategy, such as understanding the competition and building prototypes.
  • Keep abreast with agile best practices and new trends.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and deliver our technical documentation.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as Daily Standups, 3-Amigos, Sprint Review, Retrospectives, and Agile Town Halls.
  • Maintain and iterate on our customer-facing APIs, as well as client-facing portal applications.
  • Create, develop, and execute on the documentation roadmap.

Qualifications

What We Need You to Have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
    • In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent with four or more years of related experience, and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, will be considered.
  • 2+ years of technical writing experience or 2+ years of technical product management experience.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs and cloud-based technologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucid Chart.
  • Previous experience in end-to-end developer-friendly technical documentation writing of APIs.
  • Ability to use data and feedback to drive decision making.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and effectively communicate and present to an audience.

  • Payments industry knowledge.
  • Experience working in cross-functional collaborative environments.
  • Proven track record planning and rolling out large-scale product launches.

Additional Information

Work hours: 8 Hours / 5 Days per week

Travel:Position might require occasional travel for training or team meetings -

Physical Requirements:This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
