Job Description

Our Senior Global Sourcing Category Manager will be responsible for managing the supplier base for Moen’s electronics category and will collaborate with multiple internal departments and external suppliers in order to achieve our Electronics Sourcing strategy. This role will play a pivotal role as our SME for electronic suppliers and previous experience in electronics sourcing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an annual turnover in spend, create and implement category strategies supported by a strong understanding of Global Plumbing Group (GPG)’s strategies, GPG’s competition, and the industry
  • Consider demand and identify distributors or manufacturers to buy parts from that exercise the intended production supply chain, review supplier capacity, inventory and buy ahead
  • Assist in developing, leading and managing category/supply chain strategy and supply base for GPG. Ensure coordination with GPG Platforms and Innovation teams on key project and product development
  • Lead projects to resource, award components to support sourcing strategies while ensuring all project milestone tasks are completed on-time
  • Ensure suppliers comply with GPG’s code-of-conduct program (e.g., Global Citizenship, Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve strategic initiatives by improving supplier performance through the utilization of GPG’s supplier scorecard and the development of continuous improvement action plans as required
  • Support the implementation and sustainability of GPG’s Risk Management program—understand supplier capabilities, financial health, operational performance and impact to Global Plumbing Group business
  • Work closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
  • Under guidance lead RFQ, Supplier selection, negotiations, issue Purchase orders for Design Validation (DV) to PPAP for New Product introductions
  • Collaborate with functional areas like Master Scheduling, Planning, Manufacturing plants, Distribution Centers and External suppliers to ensure customer expectations are met. Work closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering is required; an MBA or other graduate degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a global sourcing or supply chain environment to include at least 5 years of electronics sourcing experience
  • Experience in (Electronic Manufacturing Supply Chain) EMS or components industry is preferred
  • General knowledge and understanding of electronic component market, EMS supplier base and electronic components lifecycle management
  • ISM or ASCM certification is desirable
  • Analytical, negotiating and relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of ERP, Microsoft Office Suites
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinking: ability to be forward-looking, see the possibilities and set a long-term SMART goals
  • Must be able to travel up to up to 20% of the time (domestically and internationally) for supplier visits, business audits, and overall category education
