Job Description

Our Senior Manager, Global Sourcing will focus on the development and implementation of the category strategies and deliverables for Electronics and Critical Components. The incumbent will collaborate with the appropriate internal as well as external suppliers on behalf of Global Sourcing. This position will be responsible for managing direct reports that are responsible for varies categories within Electronics and Critical Components.

Responsibilities

  • Manages an annual turnover of over $100 - $125 million for specified global category (commodities) with vision and leadership in a manner consistent with the company’s principles and strategic initiatives
  • Leads direct reports to develop and implement the Global Category (commodity) Strategies and deliverables for Electronics and Critical Components segments to support overall Global Plumbing Group (GPG) business objectives
  • Maintains a current understanding of Electronic industry best practices and technology trends
  • Exhibits subject matter expertise regarding commercial and technology trends so as to advise internal users on current and future market capabilities
  • Oversees the execution of the global category (commodity) strategy. Acts as a central point of contact between Global Sourcing and the GPG Business Units for all communications relating to the categories.
  • Manages global, executive-level business relationships within all GPG Business Units (BU's), and with key Electronics and Critical Components commodity suppliers
  • Builds talent and develops capabilities to deploy the Strategic Sourcing model to the organization and create value across category spend in collaboration with the Sourcing Analytics team
  • Provides a global, centralized strategic sourcing vision and processes necessary to achieve the short and long term goals related to the strategies
  • Clearly communicates and fosters an appropriate alignment process to ensure global new product awards are well aligned to category strategies
  • Negotiates and implements strategic supplier agreements. Ensures contracts are commercially sound and provide optimum protection of company assets and revenue
  • Drives implementation of Next Generation Sourcing initiatives across category spend

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related field is required along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a global strategic sourcing environment with a focus on category management and/or supply chain planning/design
  • In lieu of degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics, must possess a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in a global strategic sourcing environment with a focus on category management and/or supply chain planning/design to include a minimum of 4 years of experience in Electronics Sourcing
  • An advanced degree is preferred. CPM/CPIM certification is desirable
  • Strong leadership skills to include a minimum of 2 years of experience managing direct reports
  • Experience conducting business in foreign countries
  • Demonstrated success in developing/starting new, international supply chains
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • The ability to manage a multi-functional supply base focused on the use of their capabilities to leverage scale through the most efficient processes, quality management systems and continuous improvements
  • Broad understanding of relevant manufacturing processes
  • Domestic and international travel for business reviews and supplier visits, up to 25%
