The Retail Materials Handler is responsible forconveying donations, new inventory, storage materials, and salvaged goods within Goodwill’s retail locations.
Essentialfunctions:
Operate materialstorage andhandling equipment(pallet jacks, stackers, gaylords, and barrels)in a safe and efficient mannerat Goodwill locations andwhile loading,unloadingor moving materials to and fromGoodwill trucks.
Assist in maintainingsufficient inventory at production areaworkstations, including items that are donated at the store, in donation drop boxes, to and frome-commerce locations, and items to bebaled, salvaged, recycledor discarded.
Maintaintruck dock and other materials storageareasin a neat and orderly manner.
Keep manager informed of any shortage ofstoragematerialsand donated goods.
Prepare paperwork as required for materialsto beshipped or delivered.
Assist donors and customers with unloading and loading items into their vehicles.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times.
Pursueprofessionalcareerdevelopment through continuing educationand trainingopportunities.
Greet customers and present positive public image for the organization.
Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, reaching and climbing;ability to lift up to50lbs. consistently.
Education and experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
1yearexperiencepreferredas a materials handler in a manufacturing or retail environment, utilizing materials handlingequipment.
