As a member of a small IT team, the IT Support Specialist provides support for all business hardware and applications. This position serves as the primary support contact for technical issues and works with other IT staff to achieve resolution. Works with IT staff and outside vendors to upgrade existing systems and design, implement, test, and support new systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
  • Takes the lead role in the administration, maintenance, and support of help desk application.
  • Primary support for user technical issues. Deals with incoming issues in a professional, courteous manner over the phone, in person, and via email.
  • Works with users and IT staff and vendors to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Assists in the implementation and testing of new systems and regular system upgrades.
  • Performs PC, Server, and security audits and completes maintenance on systems.
  • Creates documentation for users in the functionality of required business software.
  • Participates in internal IT development and infrastructure projects as needed.
  • Sets up and deploys new hardware resources.
  • Manages a number of scheduled maintenance tasks designed to ensure that systems remain secure and operational.
  • Some travel to alternate business locations may be required (US only).
  • May require some off-hours support or system implementations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to provide training and technical documentation understood by multiple audiences.
  • Ability to work well in small team environments both within IT and across other business groups.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at varying priority levels.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and always represent the IT department with poise and composure.
  • Strong Office365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) skills.

Education/Experience


Associates or Bachelors Degree in applicable field
Minimum 4 years of support experience

Applicable Computer Skills


Microsoft Server 2003-2019, Microsoft Windows 7, 8, and 10, Microsoft Office 365 Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Microsoft Teams, Active Directory, Basic understanding of business network architecture, desktop/notebook PC hardware and software, VMWare,
