PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – 3rd Shift (10:30PM – 7AM) CLEVELAND, OH (West Side, Near Hopkins Airport)
Responsibilities
Supervising 3rd shift production in accordance with plant policies and procedures
Ensure smooth production operation during shift; and manufacture products by training staff, organizing, and monitoring workflow.
Accomplishes manufacturing staff goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintains staff by training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing and reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; implement continuous process improvement initiatives; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Address employees’ issues or grievances and provide amicable solutions to all parties following company policies and procedures.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
Communicate company and departmental goals and improvements by coordinating with other department Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager.
Monitor inventory and the movement of goods into and out of production facilities.
Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers for efficient production process.
Ensure standard operating procedures are followed by all personnel in the department.
Maintains product quality by monitoring and enforcing company standards and reports any quality issues.
Ensures efficient operation of plant equipment by calling for repair and techniques to maintain smooth production.
Assists in writing procedures for processes related to the supervisor’s department.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintain record of all raw materials coming to plant and maintain efficient safety regulations for same and organize all tools to increase efficiency of all activities.
Ensure a safe and clean work environment at all times through enforcement, training, proactive promotion and improvement of the Company’s health and safety practices.
Perform regular inspection on all machinery and materials to maintain compliance with all regulations such as OSHA.
Manage accident notification, reporting and investigation of any incident in the plant.
Attend scheduled training programs and regular plant meetings with the department personnel.
Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings — Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider applicable experience in lieu of degree.
3+ of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
5+ years of manufacturing experience
Must be willing to work 3rd shift
Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
