The Receptionist is responsible for operation of the switchboard and paging system. He/she answers all incoming calls, redirecting them as needed. The Receptionist greets visitors and gives directions to residents, visitors and guests, and supports clerical activities as assigned.
Essential Functions:
1.Responds promptly and courteously to all incoming phone calls and redirects them as necessary.
2.Greets visitors promptly and courteously and provides directions.
3.Arranges conferences, appointments, and travel reservations as assigned.
4.Orders supplies in accordance with procedures when assigned.
5.Provides typing support to clerical staff when assigned.
6.Maintains current list of residents by name and room number, list of telephone numbersfor all personnel, list of department extensions, physician kardex, and mail cards.
7.Coordinates outgoing and incoming mail to center.
1.High school diploma or equivalent.
2.Experience with medical terminology is preferred.
3.Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Must possess strong organizational skills.
2.Must possess the ability to handle a variety of assignments, some of moderate complexity
and requiring considerable familiarity with the operating details of the facility.
3.Must be courteous and tactful at all times.
4.Must possess basic computer skills.
5.Must exercise discretion in handling of confidential information.
6.Must have a pleasant and professional phone manner.
7.Must possess ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members,
visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
