Description
If you understand software and applications programming and industry requirements, Robert Half Technology has an open Programmer Analyst position that you should apply for. You will be responsible for creating and defining systems scope and objectives. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases. Key responsibilities
- Reviews methods of processing and recommends improvements
- Build and evaluate programming changes prior to implementation for each systems development phase. Record test cases and expected outcomes. Ensure that requirements are met. May create simple tests or a defined subset of a larger system test. May suggest acceptance/rejection in cases where not all requirements are met
- Helps develop communication content for particular system changes being implemented in production
- Assesses and logs issues. Works alongside other programmers to correct problems with code
- Provides end users and other partner groups with continuing training and assistance for a specific application, system or process
- Creates and updates dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst
- Reviews user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Records functional requirements and analyzes cost, feasibility and utility. Makes suggestions regarding how, when and whether to make the changes
- Provides guidance for internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting problems with programming. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education
Requirements
- Versatile project planning abilities that include project costing techniques
- 3+ years experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
- General knowledge of mainframe hardware/software and PC operations required
- Comprehensive understanding of programming languages
- Strong familiarity with Embedded Programming
- Comprehensive knowledge of C
- Expertise in GitHub
- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
