We specialize in the purchasing, refurbishing, and selling of used Peterbilt and Kenworth long-hood semi-trucks. It all started in 2009 with one truck and has grown into a 100+ truck operation. Job Summary

The Parts Manager's primary focus is to ensure proper stocking levels and timely ordering while staying within an operating budget. They will also be responsible to ensure that all parts removed from inventory are attached to work orders with correct cost. Also, must perform weekly cycle counts and quarterly physical inventories with the goal of being within a 2% variance.

Responsibilities

- Maintain a live and accurate inventory

- Order parts daily as needed in timely manner to feed production and not cause bottlenecks

- Ensure proper stocking levels for all “stock” parts by utilizing the ERP system to avoid delays in the reconditioning process

- Maintain a priority list of parts needed to complete a job and ensure they are on-site as soon as possible

- Develop proper min and max levels, enter the min and max levels into the ERP system, and adhere to those requirements, while monitoring monthly budgets

- Serve as the main contact for vendor reps, seek out new vendors and solicit best pricing and quantity discounts, where appropriate

- Quote out and handle all specialty part requests and work with Service Writers to ensure correct part is ordered

- Ensure all core and return parts are handled following company’s processes and procedures

- Maintain and update frequently an incoming schedule and communicate with Scheduler on part delays

- Keep parts list and preferred vendors current in ERP system, including adding new parts

- Ensure weekly cycle counts are performed and correct any discrepancies in the ERP system. Watch for discrepancy trends and research if applicable.

- Perform quarterly full physical inventories with a goal of 2% overall variance and correct any discrepancies in the ERP system

- Assist in pulling parts and fulfilling part requests

- Direct supervision of the Parts Associate including: Coaching, training, development, performance management and performance assessment

- Recruitment, onboarding, and training

Skills Required

- High School Diploma/equivalent; some college coursework in business desired

- Must be a self-starter and highly motivated

- Part fulfillment experience preferred

- Ability to work independently

- Must be able to drive a forklift

- ERP experience preferred

- Microsoft Office experience preferred
