Description You will identify issues and resolve problems in this career-building Assistant Controller position. You will keep the Controller up to date on the accounting staff as the Assistant Controller. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Sandusky, Ohio area. Be instrumental in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Help ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, goal setting and development
Determine and invent Ad Hoc financial reports
Construct relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, the monthly flash report, and key financial metrics
Assure regular account reconciliation to completion
Innovative preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Organize multiple procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses
Assist the accounting team during the closing process to assure deadlines are met
Encourage implementation and certify adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Name and create process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Balance sheets experience
Financial statement preparation experience desired
Proficiency in budgeting
Conducts Audits experience preferred
In-depth knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
CPA certification is highly preferred
