Qualifications of the Network Systems Engineer III
Education or equivalent - Bachelor' s degree or 5-6 years' experience preferred
Certification - CCNP or MCP or VCAP or VCP
Advanced experience in troubleshooting LAN & WAN technologies
Advanced knowledge of ASA Firewalls and Cisco Voice and Cisco WiFi technologies
Advanced troubleshooting of firewalls using command line interface (CLI) and/or web-based tools
Advanced monitoring of LINUX/ UNIX/Windows servers' resource usage
Expert in troubleshooting hardware and software problems on Linux, UNIX and Windows OS
Intermediate troubleshooting of alert messages from Solarwinds
Create, modify and close service request, incident and problem tickets using various ticketing systems.
Advanced VLAN creation, management and interface mapping
Advanced understanding in troubleshooting switching technologies: VLAN creation and mapping
Advanced knowledge of event management and packet capture tools

Department: The IT Department plays an essential role in assisting hospital staff to manage and care for patients with functions in areas like billing, registration, health information management, and special healthcare software.
Job Summary: The Network Systems Engineer III is responsible for installing, maintaining, and evaluating network systems and communications while also troubleshooting various complex network issues. Career focus in more than one area (Networking, Microsoft Systems Engineering, Storage, Backup, or VMWare (VDI).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Server/VoIP Hardware/Software Installation and Administration - Handles the receipt of hardware from vendors/storeroom for projects, builds and installs hardware/software, and prioritizes daily installation tasks. Performs server installations (Physical/Virtual), network infrastructure equipment and security parameters to match hospital standards, HIPAA and individual project requirements.
Server/PC/VoIP Hardware/Software Troubleshooting - Provides effective, sound and timely troubleshooting skills for all customers, maintains knowledge of the latest hardware/software used within the hospital, troubleshoot issues and escalate unresolved issues to the Network Manager.
Project Management - Attend' s project team meetings as required, accomplish project tasks in a timely manner with excellent customer service.
Disaster Recovery and Security - Incorporate disaster recovery and security best practices in all system implementations, document and support disaster recovery processes, backup to ensure system application data is protected
Issues Processing and Resolution - Maintain knowledge of the IT Department' s ITIL process and procedures, process assigned tasks, adhere to ITIL policies, provide back up to service desk, and provide next level support.
Provides On-Call after hours support, as needed.
