On behalf of Vital Research, Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Part-Time Field Interviewers to conduct the Ohio Resident Satisfaction Survey with residents in nursing facilities and residential care facilities in the Toledo, OH area. This is a part-time, temporary, 16-week project beginning the week of January 27, 2020 with a mandatory, paid three-day training. This project will continue until all interviews have been completed across the state. Ideal applicants include those with field interviewing or data collection experience, as well as familiarity with older adults, nursing homes, assisted living, or adult day care centers.

Interview days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number of work hours will vary and is approximately 20-30 hours each week. Extensive driving is required for this position. Interviewers are assigned to facilities within a 90-mile radius of their home. Part-Time Field Interviewers are paid $16.50/hour and $0.58/mile. Drive time compensation is $8.70/hour, only if over two hours each day. There is also a print stipend of $3.00 per week. Other reimbursements may be included.

As a Part-Time Field Interviewer, you will:

Administer 20-minute, face-to-face, structured interviews with residents in nursing facilities and residential care facilities using an Android tablet device

Be punctual, remain unbiased when conducting interviews, and work independently and as part of a team

Maintain organized records of interviews and update respondent status daily (e.g., completed interviews, refusals, etc.)

Upload (sync) your completed interviews and other updates daily using a WIFI connection

Build positive relationships with residents

Comply with confidentiality, federal HIPAA regulations, and adhere to data security requirements

Utilize personal cell phone and email address to regularly be in touch with Vital Research

Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor

We require that all our Part-Time Field Interviewers:

Attend and pass a mandatory, three-day training the week of January 27 (final date to be determined) with two days of classroom training and one day of field training

Comfortable interacting with frail, older adults, and others with physical and/or other disabilities

Demonstrate concern and sensitivity to issues of disability, illness, and communication challenges

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Possess strong organization, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate skillfully and in a timely manner via email, phone, and in-person

Must have a private desktop or laptop computer, reliable wireless internet, and printer to be able to print from home

Proficient with email, uploading/downloading files, Internet use, and troubleshooting possible technical glitches

Ability to read, type, and record responses accurately on a handheld tablet computer (e.g., Kindle, iPad) with a touchscreen

Ability to follow structured protocols to comply with confidentiality and federal HIPAA regulations

Must have own reliable transportation. Must provide drivers license and proof of automobile insurance

Adhere to a business casual dress code and other personal requirements

Desired Qualifications:

Familiarity with older adults, nursing homes, assisted living, or adult day care centers preferred

Interviewing experience preferred

Work Environment:

This job operates in a field environment, primarily at local nursing facilities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, and phones.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear to conduct face-to-face interviews with residents. The employee continuously is required to stand, walk, kneel, and use repetitive hand movements to finger, handle, or carry materials for up to eight hours each day.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 10 pounds. Interviewers must always carry all materials on their person.
