The Director of Programming position oversees and provides leadership over residential and day programs in Monroe County, Michigan to ensure quality services for people with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Service and supports must meet or exceed CARF & Agency standards and funder contract.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise all levels of managerial staff which include: recruitment, orientation, evaluation, corrective action and on-going oversight to ensure high productivity and morale.
Oversee all areas of client service provision to ensure management & staff implement supports according to established rules and guidelines. Lend a visionary/creative voice to enhance current services.
Provide advocacy for the Agency, staff, clients and their families
Act as a liaison between the Agency and local funder, families, schools and the community
Maintain an awareness of Agency and state regulatory policies and guidelines including, monitor and direct managers to ensure compliance.
Ensure compliance of the Internal Quality Assurance Initiatives including development of corrective action plans and monitoring of the plan to ensure completion.
Schedule and assign management and/or staff as necessary to the provision of services.
Attend meetings with support organizations, funding sources and Boards as necessary.
Ensure client rights are honored
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in a human service area preferred
Minimum of 5 years of employment experience working within systems that serve people with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
Minimum of 2 years working in a managerial or administrative capacity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Internet, etc.
Valid Drivers License and Acceptable Driving Record
Successful completion of the post-offer process including criminal history check and professional references
