Oracle Cloud Configuration Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Have a deep understanding of Oracle Cloud - ERP, EPM, Procurement & SCM modules and implement complex configurations and workflows to support migration from On-Prem to SaaS for Financial (AP, AR, GL, FA, Cash Management), Procurement (Purchasing, Sourcing, Supplier Portal, Self-service) and SCM (Inventory) Cloud modules.

Work with team members, business stakeholders and users in successfully aligning the business requirements to Cloud functionalities and create appropriate setups, configurations and address gaps with alternate solutions like improved business processes and minimal customizations;

Be functionally and technically proficient in implementing modern best practices and design, test, document and deliver cloud applications:

  • Configure Cloud applications with proper setups, rules, workflows including needed flexfields and personalizations.
  • Setup and maintain application security including assigning user access controls based on roles and responsibilities.

Be hands-on in developing and provisioning RICEF (Reports, Integrations, Customizations, Enhancements, Forms) components as needed:
  • Develop and maintain integration of Cloud modules with other Cloud and On-Premise applications - COTS and custom - using FBDI, APIs, web services etc.
  • Set up OTBI reporting, Financial Reporting Studio, smart views, dashboards and other custom reporting including detailed BI Publisher reports.
  • Convert open balances from Oracle EBS and design a strategy for historical data retrieval and maintenance.

Participate in conference room pilots, user acceptance and integration testing, Analyze new releases, do regression testing of all cloud updates & patches and monitor roll out of new features.

Create documentation - implementation guides, data flow mapping documents and diagrams, training materials as needed etc.,

Create change requests for all the setups and configuration alternations and participate in the change management process.

Provide production support and resolve any production issues, create support requests and follow up for escalation and resolution with Oracle Support team. Create knowledge base for easy troubleshooting.

Participate in project and team meetings and provide updates and statuses.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of computer science or information technology
  • 5+ years' experience in Oracle E-Business Suite with 2 to 3 years of Oracle SaaS Cloud experience.
  • Proven experience in the configuration of Oracle SaaS Products like ERP, EPM Procurement, SCM cloud modules; Configuring SaaS applications, setting up role-based access controls, approval rules, workflows, chart of accounts, flexfields etc.
  • Trained in Oracle Cloud implementation and configurations; Certifications a plus.
  • Experience with multiple oracle reporting tools - OTBI, BI Publisher, Smart View, Financial Reporting Studio - creating reports, analyses and dashboards and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Proven experience in Oracle Cloud integration using FBDI, APIs, Open Interface tables, ADFDI, web services etc., including knowledge of SaaS-PaaS integrations, hybrid integration approaches with on-premise applications and supporting middleware technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge in
    • Functional flows - financial record to report, subledgers to general ledger, procure to pay, order to cash etc.,
    • Technical architecture of Oracle EBS and Cloud applications, database table structures, application security, transactional and master data structures etc.
    • Designing EPM solutions - planning & forecasting, consolidation & close process, account reconciliations etc.,
  • Experience in documenting
    • Setups & configurations,
    • end-user training materials for using the Cloud modules including self-service reporting, dashboards, smart views etc.
    • mapping inbound and outbound integrations with Cloud modules
    • change management artifacts like change requests, implementation guides
  • Proficiency in Oracle backend creating PL/SQL packages, functions, procedures and Linux commands & scripts etc.,
  • Be a collaborative team player.

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
