SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for leading assigned projects ensuring their successful on-time / on-budget delivery. The Project Manager works closely with IT management, business customer management, and client staff to provide overall project management.
This position requires someone that is a self- starter, requiring little direct supervision and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • The Project Manager assists with project management office activities, including facilitating the planning, management, coordination, leading of project resources, and the tracking of project status.
  • As project manager, create, maintain and execute project plans as appropriate to meet changing requirements or staffing availability to ensure project initiatives are completed successfully meeting project budgets, schedules and objectives.
  • As project manager, facilitate project team meetings (e.g. Daily stand-ups, iteration planning, release planning, status meetings, etc.)
  • Track and report changes in requirements or scope that could affect project schedules
  • Monitor work in progress by assigned project resources, including resource plans and project staff assignments
  • Identify and remove roadblocks that could impede progress on project tasks
  • Effectively escalate issues, communicate project status and adjust work assignments
  • Document, maintain and ensure adherence to client program / project processes
  • Ensure best practices are being followed by the project teams
  • As project manager, facilitate retrospectives and manage action plans to ensure continuous improvement
  • Challenge and motivate team members to drive for task completion
  • Manage elevation and migration tasks across environments
  • Keep management appraised of program / project status, including schedule, budget, and issues and risks as they arise

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities. The project manager will direct assigned project staff's activities as required in a matrix managed environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university or comparable work experience
  • Guidewire experience is required.
  • Five or more years of experience as a Program and/or Project Manager for high-performing teams
  • Experience with MS Project, Rally and SharePoint highly preferred
  • Demonstrated "hands-on experience directing projects under both traditional waterfall and Agile / iterative project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated "hands-on experience directing both software / application development and technology infrastructure projects preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The individual must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with agency, departmental, and company personnel via telephone, e-mail, and one on one in a highly professional manner.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Course and seminar work is encouraged.
  • PMP, PgMP and PMI-ACP certifications are encouraged.
