Job Description:

UES, Inc., has an opportunity available for a Software Engineer to join a multi-disciplined team of engineers and scientists to develop and utilize world-class test facilities in support of Directed Energy (DE) protection and training for the United States Air Force. The ideal candidate will use a combination of expertise and creativity with a hands-on approach to lead software development that fuses hardware control, test execution, and back-end processing to realize material and tactical solutions for the warfighter. This is a challenging opportunity that will give the candidate an environment to showcase technical craft and innovation while growing the candidate's knowledge of infrared imaging, laser systems, and next-generation military systems through team interaction and real-world application. Primary responsibilities for this role will include:



  • Software development including requirements definition, design, coding, test, and integration

  • Use C# and the .NET framework (or other languages as needed) to develop and maintain custom software applications
  • Create software suites including GUI, hardware/software interface, data acquisition, database, and real-time image manipulation to establish automated and man-in-the-loop test and training infrastructure for military applications

  • Participate in Air Force test and training activities (some travel may be required)

  • Candidate may also be called upon for duties outside of software programming such as test support, systems design, etc.



Requirements:



  • B.S. or higher in Software Engineering (other engineering disciplines will be considered based on relevant education, skills, and experience)

  • 1-3 years professional experience in the software development field

  • Working knowledge of any/all of the following is a plus:

  • C# and.NET programming

  • Asynchronous and multi-threaded programming

  • Database development

  • Communication protocols such as TCP/IP, RS-232/422, IEEE-488

  • API utilization

  • Image capture and processing

  • DAQ device specification and programming

  • Laboratory measurement equipment operation and communication

  • Electro-optical devices



  • Due to security requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must be able to secure a SECRET clearance.
